Welcome to the Chilterns Prostate Cancer Support Group (CPCSG)

Patients come to us from a variety of sources; from their research into appropriate websites (e.g. the Prostate Cancer Charity, Macmillan Cancer Care etc), from "word of mouth", but principally from the information provided by the clinicians and nursing staff. At diagnosis all patients, both in the NHS and private sectors, are given an information pack which contains the contact details of the local CPCSG Area Representative. Thereafter, owing to patient confidentiality, any contact with the CPCSG is left entirely to the patient’s initiative.

Area Representatives organise local meetings which may be in health centres, public houses or community centres and are held at the frequency requested by the members themselves. At these meetings men with prostate cancer, their relatives and friends have the opportunity to meet and share their experiences in a supportive atmosphere. Local group meetings are informal and friendly social occasions.
